Open Positions
$120,000-$175,000 a year, full time
We have an opening for a full time Trusts & Estate Planning attorney with 3+ years of experience. High priority is placed on hiring team members with an A+ attitude that are ready to join a close-knit team of attorneys. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and a self-starter with polished client service skills and the ability to organize, set priorities, and follow up. This position offers an outstanding career opportunity for immediate client contact and hands-on experience in a well-respected estate planning and corporate law practice.
Experience should include the following: wealth transfer strategies and advice including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents, trust and probate administration, guardianship and conservatorship appointments and administration, and representing clients on the above matters in court. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce client-ready documents in a timely manner, collaborating as needed with other attorneys and clients’ team members.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultation with clients for estate planning, probates, and trust administration;
- Identify the appropriate strategy to meet the client’s expressed objectives and make recommendations to fulfill those objectives including advising on the appropriate type of plan to meet the client’s objectives;
- Draft estate planning documents, including wills, distinct types of trusts, ancillary documents;
- Advise and draft appropriate documents to assist clients with administration of trusts after death;
- Advise and prepare all documents related to probate administration, guardianships, and conservatorships including guiding clients through the process and appearing in court;
- Ability to explain complex legal concepts and explain all provisions of the estate plan or trust, probate, guardianship, and conservatorship administration to the client;
- Regularly consult with clients, accountants, financial advisors, and other parties as needed to effectively move cases forward;
- Cultivate relationships with the firm’s existing and future clients by maintaining consistent and timely communication;
- Report on caseload at a weekly case review meeting; and
- Develop a client following to increase the firm’s revenues.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record;
- Admission to the California bar;
- Preferred 3+ years of estate planning, probate, and trust administration experience handling matters from inception to conclusion, including meeting with clients, developing a strategy for an estate plan or administration, and preparing the appropriate documents to meet the client’s objectives;
- Effective, clear, concise, and accurate communication, both oral and written, at an appropriate level to the situation and the client
- Ability to self-start, meet deadlines, prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, work well with change in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work independently and productively;
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and organization skills;
- Outstanding judgment;
- Great ability to focus under pressure and the willingness to do what needs to be done;
- Have strong computer skills with extensive experience using MS Office Suite, timekeeping, and case management software;
- Experience with Wealth Counsel drafting is desired and Clio Case Management;
- A LL.M. in taxation is preferred but not required.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced Bookkeeper. Our team of attorneys includes business law attorneys with expertise in employment law and estate planning attorneys. Our mission is to provide quality legal services with integrity, professionalism and respect by partnering with our clients and the community to meet business objectives.
Candidate needs to be good at math, extremely detail oriented and able to work independently.
Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks online a must
- Experience with Sage Timeslips billing program preferred (will train)
- Experience with IOLTA trust accounting per State Bar Rules
- Proficient in Excel, Word and data entry
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and ability to get along well with others in a courteous, professional and friendly matter
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable
- Enter approved bills in QuickBooks Online
- Post client billable costs in Timeslips (“TS”) and QBO and file in online folder
- Fulfill check requests and post as billable costs as needed
- Make AP payments through online portals or checks if no online payment portal available
- Provide weekly AP list or as requested
- Scan and save all payments with corresponding invoice
- Track information to send vendor 1099’s
- Accounts Receivable
- Post received payments from LawPay and Checks in TS and QBO (to include Posting payments to collection reports)
- Return client phone calls/e-mails
- Contact clients regarding any payment discrepancies before depositing checks
- Make collection calls as requested
- General Accounting
- Review Positive Pay daily by 11 am
- Provide daily Cash Reports
- Accept downloaded bank account activity
- Accept downloaded credit card activity for two credit cards
- Download and Reconcile monthly bank statements (3)
- Download and Reconcile monthly loan/credit card statements (3)
- Track furniture purchases/destruction on inventory list for assessor
- Manage other balance sheet accounts
- Billing
- Enter client billable costs
- Move billable slips out of potential on opening new billing accounts
- Create new client billing accounts in TS
- Make edits to prebills and finalize and email/mail invoices
- Maintain TS database by closing accounts when concluded or inactive
- Scan billable costs to Daily Costing folder by billing cycle
- Track TS licenses
- Payroll
- Calculate and prepare payroll
- Submit payroll
- Prepare payroll reports
- Trust
- Download trust account once a week
- Monitor trust account activity
- Prepare Wires as requested
- Track information to send 1099
- Maintain trust account pursuant to California State Bar requirements
