Covid-19 Supplemental Sick Leave Clarification

While the COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave bill (SB-114) was passed by both houses of the California legislature yesterday, the bill has not yet been signed by Governor Newsom. He is expected to sign the bill into law this week.

The requirement to provide COVID-19 supplemental paid sick leave will take effect 10 days after the date of enactment of this bill, at which time the requirements are applied retroactively to January 1, 2022.
