CoronaVirus– Important Information Regarding Business Operations and OC Walks Back Public Health Warning

The coronavirus pandemic is continuing to affect all of us in so many ways both personally and with our businesses.

At MRC Law, we care deeply about your well-being and safety. We want to let you know how we are adapting and responding to this rapidly changing environment, and how we will continue to serve you during these trying times.

  • Availability: We are still here to serve you in every way. At the moment all of our attorneys and paralegals are working remotely.  We are fully prepared to continue 100% of our operations remotely as long as necessary.  We are still “meeting” with clients to design their estate plans but have postponed any estate planning signings until a later date.  We will work with each family to determine the best course of action for them.
  • Courts: The Orange and Los Angeles County Courts are closed to most matters through the end of March.  We are monitoring all pending matters to determine the courts’  protocols and how they affect our clients.
  • OC Public Health Order: Yesterday afternoon Orange County issues a Public Health Order that seemingly instructed all businesses to shut down. After ensuing public confusion and panic, Orange County public health officials issued a press release, accessible here, clarifying that yesterday’s Public Health Order is not a ‘Shelter in Place’ order and does not order businesses to shut down.

Orange County businesses are to remain open while following extreme social distancing guidelines.  Restaurants, bars, and all other establishments that serve food and/or alcohol must close dining rooms but may still sell ‘take-out’ and ‘delivery’ orders. The County acknowledges that yesterday’s Public Health Order was confusing.  It was.

  • Contact Us: We are using and encourage the use of email, telephone, and meeting platforms to make sure we are responding to your needs.  Should you need to visit our office for any reason, please call us so we can make appropriate arrangements.
