CDC Guidelines on Cleaning and Disinfecting

The CDC has issued new guidelines for employers on how to clean and disinfect their buildings and facilities in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The guidelines provide special measures for cleaning and disinfecting a facility if someone who is sick has been on the premises, including opening all windows and doors and waiting 24 hours before cleaning or disinfecting.  Notably, the CDC recommends that if the sick individual has been absent for more than 7 days, special cleaning and disinfecting measures are not necessary, and routine measures should be continued.  The CDC also provides recommendations for employee education and worker protection policies with respect to COVID-19. See the full list of updated CDC guidelines here.

Additionally, the Department of Labor is continuing to update its list of FAQs regarding emergency paid sick leave and emergency paid family and medical leave under the FFCRA.  We recommend checking the FAQ page regularly to stay current.  The latest version of the FAQ is available here.
